Professional Schools in Boston

Boston is known worldwide as a center of education, high technology, biotechnology and healthcare. This is due, in no small part, to the large number of graduate and professional degree programs associated with the institutions named above. The immediate Boston area is home to numerous professional schools. Within the city of Boston are three medical schools and three dental schools, with one of each affiliated with Boston University, Tufts University, and Harvard University. Optometric training can be pursued at the New England College of Optometry.

For those wishing to pursue a career in law, legal education and training can be pursued at the law schools affiliated with Boston College, Boston University, Harvard University, Northeastern University, and Suffolk University as well as the stand-alone New England School of Law.

There are numerous other educational opportunities in the greater Boston area in areas such as business and international relations. And for those looking to begin their post-secondary educational experiences with pursuit of an Associate’s degree, the Boston area is home to a large number of community colleges and other centers where two year programs of instruction can provide a solid grounding for starting a career.

The Boston area is home to numerous centers of higher learning, an important reason for the pre-eminence of Boston in the knowledge-based economy.
